Madhuca Longifolia commonly known as Iluppai Maram in Tamil or the butter nut tree is a medium to large sized deciduous tree. Flowers, fruits and leaves are fresh or dried. It is usually cook with flour used as a sweetener and fermented with alcohol.

The seeds of Madhuca Longifolia are so good that it yields 35 to 47 percent of oil.
It is an important aspect of adivasi communities of  Chhattisgarh,chota Nagpur plateau Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh Maharashtra.

Mahua seeda are good source of edible fats. Flowers has been traditionally used as cooling agent, tonic, treatment of helminthes. They are also used for the treatment of bronchitis, tonsillitis and pharyngitis.
Leaves are used as cough expectorant and also treats Cushing syndrome.Now, I have told that the seeds of the great mahua is beneficial for us in many ways.
